The starting point for this project by the chef Edorta Lamo in Kanpezu is the revaluation of the local culture of his birthplace. With the same logic he trusted the quality of ACCOYA\u00ae, a wood distributed by his neighbours the Grupo G\u00e1miz, for the fa\u00e7ade of his restaurant.<\/h2>\n

fter his triumph with his San Sebastian restaurant <\/span>A Fuego Negro<\/b>, without doubt <\/span>one of the most influential shrines to gastronomy<\/b> in the world capital of cuisine (judging by the number of Michelin stars in San Sebastian and the surrounding area), Edorta Lamo took an even more personal project with the restaurant Arrea!, <\/span>the chef’s return to his home town, Kanpezu <\/b>(Campezo).<\/span><\/p>\n

With the courage to set up premises with their own personality, one hundred percent local resonance and a strong link to culture of his homeland, in a place with less than a thousand inhabitants in the mountains of Alava, Edorta Lamo chose Grupo G\u00e1miz, whose factory and history are also linked to Kanpezu, for <\/span>the wooden cladding of the restaurant fa\u00e7ade<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The choice was <\/span>ACCOYA\u00ae, a sustainable and extraordinarily resistant wood.<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

A beautiful, sustainable and durable fa\u00e7ade<\/b><\/h3>\n

At the initial presentation of the restaurant, it was said that Arrea! is \u201cthe return of Edorta Lamo to his crudest, hardest and most savage roots\u201d. Although this statement probably alludes to deeper matters, it is true that, in terms of climate, the Kanpezu area is a rather inhospitable rural environment, especially in winter.<\/span><\/p>\n

For Arrea!,<\/span> ACCOYA\u00ae, the wood of the future,<\/b> has been used to clad a melting pot of tradition and the past. This <\/span>acetylated wood <\/b><\/a>takes all types of finishes, and for this project a screen was chosen that shelters from the inclemency of the outdoors and that at the same time lets the light in, to which a rustic touch was given.<\/span><\/p>\n

ACCOYA\u00ae: 50-year written guarantee<\/b><\/h3>\n

Both the manufacturers of ACCOYA\u00ae <\/span>and Grupo G\u00e1miz, distributor of the wood in Spain<\/b>, provide a 50-year written guarantee. This <\/span>extraordinarily resistant wood<\/b><\/a> is fruit of a natural process called acetylation. Here, the <\/span>wood obtained from sustainable forests<\/b> is subjected to a molecular change due to natural products, <\/span>with no toxic procedures.<\/b><\/p>\n
