MUSKARIA RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX

The wooden handrails of the balconies are one of the hallmarks of this residential complex on the Zarautz beachfront that dates back to 1970. So much so that, despite being very deteriorated, in its restoration the original design was not changed, but rather a material was sought that would help prolong the life of the structures, subject to the rigour of such an exquisite location.

The sun, the wind and the salt residue had ravaged the slats, which were substituted by identical ones (although removable for cleaning) made with ACCOYA®. The architects chose acetylated wood for its natural elegance, its durability and its resistance. The endurance of ACCOYA® sustainable wood, guaranteed to resist in exterior settings for a minimum of fifty years, helps keep the construction in perfect conditions without the need for maintenance. For example, the images show shots captured a couple of years apart.
