A SOLID TRADITION SINCE ANCIENT TIMES
Known for its clear tones and its excellent behaviour in all types of finishes, Beech is a sturdy, heavy hardwood species. Its hardness is such that in the past it was used in mining to make rails before cast iron was introduced. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries it was also highly valued in the field of cabinetmaking to produce furniture, floors, doors or even bowls.
It is a large tree that can reach up to 40 meters and live up to 300 years. In addition, it is a highly prized species for forestry, as it can grow in very diverse environments. For about 50 years it has been one of the most used species for reforestation, especially in northern Europe.
Its scientific name is Fagus sylvatica, the wood of this deciduous tree is semi-hard, and is a pale cream colour, although it can vary from whitish to brown. Over time, the natural beech wood acquires a certain reddish hue, while still retaining its whitish essence.

The radiata pine offers one of the most versatile quality woods. At GRUPO GÁMIZ we manufacture part of our laminated profiles in local radiata pine wood, for solid window or mixed aluminum and wood and selected quality glulam beams, for applications such as wall-curtain facades.
