At Grupo Gámiz we get 100% of our energy from renewable sources
This project, which consolidates our company’s sustainability values, was made possible by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU.
Like quality, sustainability is much more real when it’s certified. Our primary and secondary processed wood products have the most important sustainability stamps: FSC and PEFC.
At Grupo Gámiz we have taken yet another step to reduce our carbon footprint by implementing an energy self-supply project that was made possible by funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU, in the which have been collaborating with the Company Imagina Energía.
2,000 tonnes of CO2 saved
This project came to an end in 2021. Since then, all of the energy we use at Grupo Gámiz comes from renewable sources, specifically solar power.
For this purpose we have installed 1,800 photovoltaic panels on the roofs of our facilities, which guarantee 801 kW of power and 684 MWh of self-consumed energy.
The rest of the energy needed for our processes is obtained from reusing our own waste (splinters and saw dust), and 100% clean energy from renewable sources supplied by Imagina Energía, the first 100% solar energy in Spain.
In other words: since the start of our self-supply project we have saved more than 2,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
One more step in our daily commitment to sustainability, ecology and innovation.
If you use wood in your processes, you can be even more creative, functional and sustainable
At Grupo Gámiz we have been committed to innovation since 1942 as the basis for the manufacture of our primary and secondary processed wood products.
That attention to detail has helped us to guarantee maximum quality in our boards and panels, laminated profiles and edge-glued panels.
It has also enabled us to be pioneers and create the only oak glulam in the world with the CE marking for structural use, and we’re the only manufacturers of this in the world.
So if you work in industry, construction, architecture or interior design and are looking for wood, you won’t find a better place for it.
